33 Ways to Say Hello & Greetings in Korean Language
Lots of people now know how to greet in Korean language nowadays. They basically can say at least 안녕하세요 ( an-nyeong-ha-se-yo ), and 감사합니다 ( gam-sa-hab-ni-da ). That's enough, too.But when it comes to say hello~ even in English, we use many many different ways to say hello. It would be nice to know some different ways to say hello, other than 안녕하세요 ( an-nyeong-ha-se-yo ).

- 안녕하세요? Hello (formal polite)
- 안녕하셨어요? Hello (formal polite)
- 안녕하십니까? Hello (very formal polite)
- 안녕? Hi (informal)
- 안뇽? What’s up? or Sup? (informal)
안녕하셨어요? 그동안 잘 지내셨죠? Hello, how have you been?
안뇽 얘들아~ What's up, guys~
- 하이 Hi (informal)
- 헬로 Hello (informal)
- 와썹 What's up? (informal)
- 요 Yo (informal)
와썹 맨, 뭐 하냐? What's up, man, what are you doing?
- 좋은 아침 Good morning (informal)
- 좋은 아침입니다 Good morning (formal polite)
좋은 아침입니다, 커피 드실래요? Good morning, would you like a coffee?
- 요즘에는 뭐 하세요? What have you been doing lately? (formal polite)
- 요새 뭐 해? What are you up to lately? (informal)
요새 뭐 해? 놀자! What are you up to lately? Let's get together!
- 뭐 하세요? What are you doing? (polite)
- 뭐 하고 계세요? What are you doing? (formal polite)
- 뭐 해? What’s up? (informal)
뭐 해? 오늘 바빠? What's up? Are you busy today?
- 오랜만이네요 It’s been a while (polite)
- 오랜만이야 It’s been a while (informal)
오랜만이야, 반갑다. It's been a while, nice seeing you.
- 잘 지내요? How are you? (informal polite)
- 잘 지냈어? Have you been doing well? (informal)
- 잘 지내셨어요? Have you been doing well? (formal polite)
- 어떻게 지내셨어요? How have you been doing? (formal polite)
어떻게 지내셨어요? 식사는 하셨어요? How have you been doing? Did you get to eat?
- 식사 하셨어요? Did you eat something? (formal polite)
- 뭐 드셨어요? Did you get to eat? (informal)
- 밥 먹었어? Did you eat? (informal)
- 점심 먹었어? Did you have a lunch? (informal)
- 저녁은 먹었어? Did you eat dinner? (informal)
밥 먹었어? 배고프다. Did you eat? I'm hungry.
- 반갑습니다 Nice meeting you (formal polite)
- 만나서 반갑습니다 Nice to meet you (formal polite)
- 반가워요 Nice meeting you (polite)
- 반가워 Nice meeting you (informal impolite)
반가워요, 어서오세요. Nice meeting you, welcome.
- 부모님은 잘 계셔? Are your parents doing well? (informal polite)
- 부모님은 건강하시지? How’re your parents doing? (polite)
부모님은 건강하시지? 요즘도 일하셔? How're your parents doing? Are they still working?
* How to use informal : You have to use it to younger, or to people of lower social status than you.
* Superior, stranger, adults = very formal polite >> formal polite > polite > informal > informal impolite = Children, friends, family
